We held the celebrations of 75th Independence Anniversary Day of Sri Lanka on 11th of February 2023, at the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall.

2022-12-17 දින අපි නත්තල් සමරු උළෙලක් පැවැත්වූයෙමු. නත්තල පිළිබදව ගරු ප්රින්ස් දේවානන්දන් පියතුමන්ගේ දෙසුමකින්ද හෙබි නත්තල් උළෙල, කවදත් අප සමග සිටින ප්රධාන අනුග්රාහක ෂෙහාන් සපරමාදු මහතාගේ දායකත්වයෙන් ඇරඹී, කිතුනු බැති ගීවලින් හා රංගනයන්ගන් අලංකෘතව තිබිණ. නත්තල් සීයා දරුවන්ගේ පමණක් නොව සහභාගිවූ සියල්ලන්ගේම නෙත් සිත් පැහැරගනු දැකගත හැකිවිය. මේ එහි අවස්ථා කීපයකි.

Several guests delivered speeches, including:
1. Hon. Michael Wood Minister of Transport, and Workplace Relations & Safety
2. Hon. Vanushi Walters, MP for Upper Harbour
3. Hon. Brooke van Velden, Member of Parliment and Deputy Leader of ACT
4. Mr Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi, National Party Representative
5. Keynote address was delivered by Mr Amita Weerakoon
USLA President Dr Rasika Subasinghe made the welcoming speech while Secy, Mr Upali Gunasekara , did the vote of thanks.
Celebrations ended with usual Sri Lankan traditional refreshments.

Hela Mihira Silver Jubilee- 10th July 2021

Hela Mihira Cultural show staged on the 10th of July 2021 at the Avondale College Auditorium.
We are proud to say that we are the people who brought Hela Mihira on to the stage! තව ඉන්නවා කට්ටිය. ගෞරි, දයා, Dr ගාමිණී, නිහාල්, චින්තක.

Independance Day Celebrations - 9th February 2020
We celebrated the 72nd Independence Day anniversary on 8th of February at Mt Albert War Memorial Hall. Hon Jenny Salesa, Minister of Building and Construction, Customs and Ethnic Communities and Associate Minister for Education and Health, was the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included Hon. Michael Wood, Hon. Priyanca Radhakrishnan, Hon. Dr Deborah Russell, MP, Hon Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi, MP, Hon Paul Goldsmith, MP, Language school teacher, Mrs Kanthi Gunathilake, Ms Farhana Nalar, President, New Zealand Sri Lanka Foundation, President of Alumni Association of university of Peradeniya new Zealand chapter, Mr Sarath Karunaratne, Secretary SLSNZ and Mr Sharthaar Jameel, Mr Vajira Medagoda, President, NZ Ex Servicemen association.

This time we invited two of very popular and talented vocalists in Sri Lanka and among Sinhala communities all over the world, Jagath Wickramasinghe and Uresha Ravihari. The singers themselves praised the event as an outstanding musical show among the ones they had ever staged.
